MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions and it represents a lucrative part of the tourism mix across the globe. MICE can also be referred to as Business Tourism or Business Events. While primarily rooted in leisure, Incentives often involve business group tourism, including accommodation, transportation, company dining opportunities, and excursions, as part of the complete incentive package. Several elements contribute to the success factors of the MICE industry. For the current study, areas identified were the business travelers, motivation, perception, satisfaction, marketing strategy, key performance indicator, technology trends, and challenges towards MICE industry.
1. Meetings
Business gatherings where professionals, companies, or organizations meet to discuss projects, strategies, or partnerships. These are usually smaller and more focused events.
2. Incentives
Travel rewards offered by companies to motivate employees, partners, or clients. For example, a company may organize a luxury safari in Maasai Mara National Reserve as an incentive trip for top-performing staff.
3. Conferences
Large formal meetings where experts, professionals, or organizations gather to share knowledge, research, and ideas. These often take place in major cities like Nairobi with conference facilities
4. Exhibitions
Events where companies display their products, services, or innovations to potential buyers, partners, and the public.
